Mäurer & Wirtz 4711 Acqua Colonia Blood Orange & Basil Candle 180g is a home fragrance candle built around the brand's 2010 Acqua Colonia signature — composed by Alexandra Kalle. A bright, modern citrus-aromatic composition: red orange at the top, Tuscan basil at the heart, and a soft lemon drydown.
About 4711
4711 is the historic Eau de Cologne house founded in Cologne, Germany in 1792 — one of the oldest still-operating perfume houses in the world, owned today by Mäurer & Wirtz. The Acqua Colonia line, launched in 2009, refreshes the brand's classical cologne tradition with modern, ingredient-led twin-note compositions.

Who it's for
Existing 4711 Acqua Colonia wearers who want the matching home candle — and anyone drawn to bright, citrus-aromatic home fragrances. Suited to the kitchen, dining room or as a daytime living-room scent, particularly in spring and summer.
How to use
- On the first burn, allow the candle to melt all the way to the edges of the glass — typically 2 to 3 hours. This prevents tunnelling on later burns.
- Trim the wick to about 5mm before each subsequent lighting to keep the flame even and reduce sooting.
- Burn on a flat, heat-resistant surface away from drafts, soft furnishings and pets.
- Do not burn for more than 4 hours at a time.
- Snuff or dip the wick to extinguish — avoid blowing out, which can produce smoke.
