About John Varvatos
John Varvatos is an American fashion designer, internationally known for his rock-and-roll-inflected menswear. He founded his own label in 2000 after senior design roles at Polo Ralph Lauren and Calvin Klein, and his perfumery line — produced under licence — extends the brand's musician-and-leather aesthetic into fragrance. The eponymous 2004 John Varvatos was the line's first major launch; John Varvatos Oud is its prestige oriental flagship.

John Varvatos Oud was conceived as the line's most opulent men's composition — a deliberately layered, slow-burning fragrance designed for evening wear and statement occasions. The use of more than two dozen notes spread across the three layers gives the scent a genuinely layered evolution: the smoky tobacco-and-juniper opening softens into a spicy, slightly floral heart, then settles into a leather-and-resin drydown that develops over hours.
