The story behind Man In Black
Alberto Morillas conceived Man In Black around the imagined moment when the Roman god Vulcan, working at his forge, transformed into a man. The opening rum-and-spice accord references that fiery beginning; the leather-and-iris heart sits as the smoothed-out, polished centre; and the tonka-benzoin base provides the warm, glowing close. The smoked-glass flacon, with its coiled black cap inspired by a serpent — a longstanding Bvlgari motif — completes the metaphor.
