Rochas Moustache Eau de Parfum 125ml is the 2018 contemporary reinterpretation of one of French perfumery's most-loved men's classics. The original Moustache, created by Edmond Roudnitska for Marcel Rochas in 1949, was a foundational citrus-aromatic chypre. The new EDP, composed by Natalie Gracia-Cetto, takes the spirit of the original and reframes it as a modern oriental-woody: pink pepper and mandarin on top, Atlas cedar and Bulgarian rose at the heart, and a base of benzoin, vanilla and patchouli.

About Rochas

Rochas began as a French couture house founded by Marcel Rochas in Paris in 1925, and made history in 1949 with the launch of Femme — created by Edmond Roudnitska as a love letter to Marcel's wife Hélène. Moustache, also from 1949, was the masculine companion piece. The fragrance arm of the house has continued under successive ownership, and remains the most active part of the brand today, with in-house perfumer Jean-Michel Duriez and outside collaborators such as Natalie Gracia-Cetto.

While Moustache Original 1949 (2018) is Rochas's faithful reissue of the Roudnitska classic, this Moustache Eau de Parfum is a deliberately modern composition aimed at contemporary tastes — warmer, sweeter and more amber-leaning. The bottle keeps a subtle visual link to the original Rochas Moustache silhouette in heavier glass with a contemporary metal cap, signalling its place as the modern flanker in the Moustache lineage.

How to wear it

1. Spray onto pulse points — chest, sides of the neck, inside of the wrists — from around 15cm.
