The story behind Black Saffron
Black Saffron was inspired by the visual contrast of saffron — bright orange-red in the bowl, dark and metallic on the skin — and by the leather-and-fruit aesthetic of Indian perfumery and textile craft. The composition lets saffron sit at the heart of the structure rather than as a single accent note; the leather accord adds a warm, slightly animalic underbelly; and the raspberry-and-violet pair keeps the fragrance from drifting too dry or austere.
