The Zino Davidoff Group is a Swiss-based family business known historically for cigars, watches and leather goods. Davidoff entered fragrance in the 1980s, and the original Cool Water for Men (1988, by perfumer Pierre Bourdon) is widely credited with launching the modern aquatic-fougère category. Cool Water has always been about water as a sensory idea — clean, cold, slightly salty. The Oceanic Edition leans further into that brief, paring back the original's more layered floral pyramid in favour of three highly legible notes. The driftwood base, in particular, replaces traditional "musk" with something more textural and salt-bleached, giving the fragrance a more relaxed, post-swim character than the 1996 original.
