The story behind Acqua di Giò Profondo
Profondo was conceived as the depths-of-the-ocean counterpart to the surface-level original Acqua di Giò — Alberto Morillas's brief was to take the Mediterranean coastal aesthetic and follow it underwater. The mineral-cool, slightly oily quality of the heart and base evokes wet stones, sea-sprayed cliffs and deep blue water; the cypress-and-lentisque pairing keeps the composition firmly Italian. The bottle takes the recognisable Acqua di Giò silhouette in a much deeper, midnight-blue tinted glass.
