The story behind L'Insoumis
L'Insoumis was Lalique's attempt to break out of the classical fougère mould and create a more rebellious, contemporary masculine. Pellegrin's signature is the way he balances naturalness with structure — here the basil and rum lift the opening with an almost edible freshness, while the heart returns to the herbal codes of traditional French masculinity. The base of Haitian vetiver and oakmoss makes it feel grown-up and characterful, with a finish that lingers close to the skin.
